Plant Source – Waxberry

Waxberry is an evergreen tree from the Myrica genus, also known as the holy plum, white-tip plum, or tree plum, found in regions such as East China, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, and Guizhou. Waxberry trees are lush with a round crown and produce red fruit in early summer, making them ideal for landscaping and production. They are suitable for solitary or cluster planting in lawns, courtyards, or along roadsides. Waxberries are highly valued for their medicinal and edible properties, rich in fiber, minerals, vitamins, proteins, fats, pectin, and eight essential amino acids. The fruit contains significantly higher levels of calcium, phosphorus, and iron compared to other fruits and can relieve thirst, aid digestion, and treat various ailments such as thirst, diarrhea, dysentery, abdominal pain, and hangovers. The fruit can be eaten fresh or processed into dried waxberries, sauces, preserves, and used for brewing, offering thirst relief, digestion aid, and other benefits.
